On March 3rd 2021 the world will celebrate World Wildlife Day. This year the theme is – “Forests and Livelihoods: Sustaining People and Planet”. The theme is aimed at spotlighting the people who live close to the forest and whose livelihoods are dependent on a sustainable forest ecosystem. This include many indigenous and local communities. About 28% of the earth’s lands are managed by indigenous people and that include many ecological intact forests systems. These systems need to be preserved for their economic survival and cultural identity.
